Eleglide M1 Plus

Had this bike for a few weeks now but only rode it once so far for about 7 kms .
It was a prompt delivery , packaged perfectly and only require minimal putting together . If you opt for the twist throttle it’s a bit fiddly to do .. just peel back the original hand grip , slot the twist throttle in d tighten the **** in the end cap .. look for the connection in the frame as it comes away from the stem and connect it .. works brilliantly ! .. I’ve changed the saddle for s more comfortable one .. after trey I can’t fault it yet !! Makes bike riding at 60 a pleasure again , can’t wait for the summer to use it more .. people pay a lot more for this quality !!

Eleglide T1 step-through

Bought for my wife as first e-bike. Have been able to fit wider 2.1inch mountain bike rubber so its now got everything I wanted and for a great price. Seems sturdy enough for the sort of off road pathway trekking we have in mind. Downside if any would be that the brakes are "adequate", front shocks seem a little basic and not very smooth in operation, but fit for purpose and acceptable at the price. The assist works well, controls and display are nice, general build quality and accessories are good, especially the free one making it fun to ride. Overall pleased with purchase.

Wow! Fantastic value for money.

I had been researching electric bikes for some time, and gone through most of the options, for my wife and myself. I wanted an on and off road bike and went for a Giant Talon which set me back £2499. My wife had been frightened off the road on her old manual bike pre covid and so did not want to spend a fortune on an ebike that she may not be confident to use. So rather than go for the £2699 Giant step-through we thought we would give this Eleglide a try and possibly "Upgrade" at a later date.
Well, here's the thing, we won't be upgrading!
The bike turned up, almost ready to ride, a simple, put the handlebars on, put the front wheel in, add mudguards etc and it was ready to go. Instantly I was impressed with the quality of the components and the build.
The included rack on the back was my wife's first tick in the box, along with the "proper" mudguards and a stand. All this was standard. The display nearly put her off but when she saw how simple it was and basically it was just for information, she was sold on it. The addition of the "Free gift" thumb operated throttle was a decision we had to make, strictly speaking I guess it is illegal without registering the bike if used on the road. But we went with it anyway.
My wife set the seat to minimum height and donned her helmet and said she would "Give it a go" just down the road. She had been scared by an abusive lorry driver when riding away from the traffic lights one day. So 15 minutes later, my son and I started to get worried when she turned up safe and sound, with a big smile on her face.
The pedal assistance was fantastic she said and even the gears changed up and down seamlessly. But the said the greatest aid to her safety, was the throttle, it helped her pull away from traffic lights, smoothly without and wobbling and she was quickly back up to speed and confident at being on the road.
This bike has given us another chance in our 60's to get back out on the road with confidence. We also will not be upgrading to a Giant! This bike is a 3rd of the price of the Giant and to be honest, I wonder why I have just paid out all the money on my Giant bike, I think I should have gone for the MTB version of this T1
I haven't worked out the range on this yet but it seems very good after 30 miles we are still about 50%. Obviously the battery will settle after a few rides and I do not know how much of the time my wife uses the throttle or high mode in pedal assist, but I will update the review when I know. Our last ride include a very muddy bridleway and then back onto main roads and the tyres coped well. My wife was also mud spatter free! Which is more than I can say for myself, Does anyone know where you can get decent mudguards for a Giant?

Needs a bit of adjusting to get the gears just right. Very powerful. Easy to assemble, looks great and comfy.
